The Persian cat breed is by far one of the most popular cats. They have stunning colors with long, thick coats. This breed does require some maintenance each day with a daily brushing to keep their hair from matting, but they are just stunning. They are very loyal and affectionate to their owners.

2. Birman Cats

Birman cats are another highly sought after breed. They have very laid back, friendly, and even-tempered. They are again a loyal breed that has that nice long silky soft hair that also requires daily grooming.

 3. Maine Coon

I love the Main Coon breed, they are a larger size cat that has a gorgeous look. Their Maine hair almost mimics the style of a lion, and they have unique ears and markings. They are a very loving breed that doesn’t need a lot of maintenance for their long fur. Some say that the breed was brought to America by Vikings, and that is how they got their name because they resembled a raccoon.

4. British Shorthair

This breed is considered one of the oldest English breeds. They are great as an indoor cat, are very loving and loyal to their owners, and great with kids. They come in a variety of colors, which are all so stunning. I really love the grey British shorthairs, they are stunning to look at. The British Shorthair is a very regal and poised breed.

5. Abyssinian

These Abyssinian breeds are just gorgeous and a very active and playful cat by nature. They love to be up and playing, and some even love water. I love their shiny and thin and sleek look, I feel they stand out from a lot of other breeds of cats.  This cat breed has been known to live life to the fullest because they are always up for testing things out. They will climb higher and play more than other breeds. They are a stunning breed that will for sure brighten up your life.

What breed of cat do you own? Is it is a mixed breed or purebred?
